We measure how much, never what
A short, plain-language account of the only data MADB ever sends, and how to turn it off.
What is collected
MADB sends an anonymous usage beacon containing a salted install identifier and counts and metadata only — for example, how many memories were written or recalled. This helps us understand adoption and reliability.
What is never collected: your memory content, the text of your queries, tool payloads, file paths, or anything that could identify you or your work. Your memories never leave your device; only anonymous metrics do.
Opting out
Set MADB_TELEMETRY=off in your environment or .mcp.json and the beacon is disabled entirely. MADB keeps working exactly the same.
Storage
All memory is stored locally under MADB_DATA_DIR. You can delete any record with forget or remove the data directory.
